The castle of Masino, in Caravino, for ten centuries was the main residence of Count Valperga di Masino. Up to the Renaissance was defended by high walls and imposing guard towers, then demolished to make room for monumental and splendid gardens of romantic and typical features of aristocratic Italy.
The entire building is literally covered with frescoes, refined pieces of furniture, and a museum of eighteenth-century carriages that are truly extraordinary.
Currently the castle is managed by the Italian Environment Fund and is included in the Canavese Castle circuit.

The Masino Castle is located on a morainic hill in the center of the Ivrea plain, in Canavese, near the Serra d'Ivrea and is surrounded by an immense park where a maze of hedges is located.
In the eighteenth-century stables, the Carriage Museum has been set up, while the richly decorated monumental rooms have been brought back to the beauty of former times, including the splendid dance hall.

The garden of the castle, gigantic and lush, is typical of English art dating back to the 1800s, it encircles the castle in its entirety, and extends for several hectares of land, covered by a road that runs through its groves all the way up to the nearby resort of Strambino.
Located in the park is the second largest botanical labyrinth of Italy, an intricate route between hedges reconstructed thanks to the eighteenth-century design found in the archives.
